Ann and I extend our sympathies to the Stern family for Mark's passing. I was a few years ahead of Mark at USC School of Medicine/LA County Hospital. I first met him in 2002 when I joined the Mercy Hospital medical staff. He became a valued colleague, collaborator and friend. Later, he cared for Ann in excellent fashion. He was a leader on the medical staff and a strong advocate for the independent physician.

Stern Family,
I adored Dr. Stern. I worked with him for many years at Mercy. He always gave me joy and put a smile on my face. I too was from California.
We ended up having the same retirement date.
I will remember him fondly.

Dr. Stern was one of the nicest individuals, one could encounter! Always smiling and friendly.
