Mark Higman Obituary

"Poppy" son of Ruby and Donald Higman was born on November 28, 1955 in Denver, CO. Mark lost his battle to an ongoing illness on October 3, 2016 in Denver, CO. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and son. He had a passion for traveling and cooking. He was very patriotic and loved his country. He was very passionate about politics and wasn't afraid to voice his opinion. He was always very proud of his children and their accomplishments. He was especially proud of his two sons for their service in the U.S. Navy. He loved and adored his wife. He was very affectionate and taught his children the importance of love and respect. He loved being around his grandchildren, they knew him as "Pompo". He lived many places, but always had a deep love for Colorado (and the Broncos), where they eventually returned to live. He is survived by his wife, Ivy Higman of Ignacio, CO. His daughter Stephanie Walsh and two granddaughters of Ignacio, CO. His daughter LeeAnn Jack, husband Willie, grandson and granddaughter of Durango, CO. His son John Walsh of Durango, CO. His son Zachary Higman and wife Sarai of Coronado, CA. His mother Ruby Higman of Palisade, CO. He is preceded in death by his father Donald Higman, his grandparents on both sides, his beloved Aunt Rita and his granddaughter Jayda. Poppy, you were a very special man to many people and you will be forever loved and never forgotten.

I am so sorry for your great loss. May the God who "binds up the brokenhearted" and "comforts all who mourn" sustain your family during this challenging time. (Isaiah 61:1,2) With heartfelt sympathy.

My deepest condolences to all of the family. I got to work and know Mark for a bit while he worked here at the Sky Ute casino resort. Mark was such a kind man. He will be missed on this earth. God bless you all.
