Malcolm Bufton Obituary

M. Richard Bufton, 89 years old, died peacefully with his wife of thirty-six years, Suzanne by his side in U C Health, Aurora, CO of covid pneumonia early morning Tuesday, January 25, 2022.

He was born October 10, 1932, in Erdington County of Birmingham North England. He was educated in London and received all school, Lord Kemsley Award for academic achievement. He joined the British Army after graduation. After his military service in Suez Canal, Egypt during the Korean Conflict, he immigrated to British Columbia. His family in Durango, Colorado relocated him to the USA in 1955, and became a permanent resident of Denver, CO in 1960.

After attending Ft Lewis College and working for Marathon Oil in Durango, CO, he began a thirty-year career as a cartographer and supervisor with Chevron Oil and Gas.

His many loved nieces and nephews will remember his humor, storytelling, and sense of humor. He was a skilled hunter and so so angler. After retirement, he enjoyed family travels, golf, classical music, opera, ballroom dancing, and good football.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Ted, John, and C. Ernest, sisters; Gloria G. Cherry and Jean Zellitti.

I am so sad to hear about his death. M.R. was a force of nature! I so enjoyed getting to know him as I did. He had so many more stories I didn't know about him. 36 years of marriage is a good long time to know him :). I'm sorry for your loss and know you will have a big hole in your heart. My condolences.
