Louise Ireland-Frey Obituary

"Dr. Louise"" graduated from this life at Cottonwood Inn on Saturday. She was 102. She earned her B.A. at Colorado University, her M.S. at Mount Holyoke, her M.D. at Tulane, and had published original research through Cambridge University by the age of 20. Louise raised four sons, and published seven books. She taught and practiced hypnotherapy for many years with a nationwide following, and was given the ""Lifetime Achievement Award"" by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners. On an impulse, she entered and won first place in a statewide essay competition for the Colorado centennial, and was presented with a solid gold medallion on the steps of the Capitol. Louise is survived by two of her four sons, Rob and Will.  There will be a memorial service at the Friends (Quaker) meeting house at 803 County Road 233, on Tuesday, 12/2, at 4 pm.

Freeing the Captives is a great book, thank you for it, Louise! I read it many years ago and was touched by your loving, compassionate attitude.

We once asked Aunt Louise what she attributed her longevity to. She said it was "crappy coffee." By that she meant instant coffee. We think her sense of humor may have helped.

An amazing, if somewhat unconventional woman, whom we admired deeply because of that unconventionality. We miss you Aunt Louise. I have no doubt that we will reconnect someday in someway.
