Remembering Lori this High Holy Days
August 27, 2019
As I read Loris story I wanted to extend my deepest sympathies. We are truly sorry for your loss. No words can remove what you feel. Hero is an understatement for Lori. No greater love is there than one surrendering themselves in behalf of their friends. She was amazing and will be dearly missed.

My thoughts and prayers are with Lori's family and friends. She was so brave, her final act was probably a testament to the kind of person she was. I hope that you can find comfort in God and rely on him during times of grief, as brought out in Psalms 94:19.

Though we didn't know her personally, we certainly are amazed as to what an extraordinary, self-sacrificing and wonderful person she was, a "Light In the Darkness," a role model of how all people should conduct themselves! May she rest in ETERNAL PEACE with G-D. Our most sincere condolences are hereby extended to her entire family. May our simple prayers serve to comfort you in your hour of grief.
Sincerely, The Tankel & Carroll Families.

Courage is facing the danger despite the fear and not backing down. When we see it in action then we want to strive for it ourselves. What an example worthy of imitation when done with a good and fine motive. Please accept my condolences for your loss..

I didnt know Lori but since we share the same name I feel a bond. She has one of those faces which spread joy in her actions. Her philosophy to help everyone touched this community. She will always be remembered. You have a special angel watching over you both now. Speak of her often because this community will always be thinking of her. Her death made us all think about our fellow man. All her loved ones will be in my prayers.

To the family of Lori Gilbert-Kaye. I didn't know her but I am so so heartbroken for the loss of this beautiful woman. The evil in the world must stop. It really must. I am a woman of color and when one of our sisters gets hurt it should affect all of us as we are one human race. We must continue to pray for tolerance and world peace. Lori will teach us to continue to love each other no matter what. Let us forge on and do good in honor of her. Dr. C. Harcum

I did not get to meet you, but your beautiful smile tells me so much about you. My heart breaks for such a senseless act, and I send my thoughts and prayers to your family. Our pastor spoke some words on Sunday that really reached out to me, "We may worship differently, but we are all children of one God." She also said, "We are all part of one race, "The Human Race". I attend Community Church of Poway and like others there, I mourn with you. May God bring you comfort and peace. Lori, hopefully the sacrifice you had to make will bless others to shed love and peace and kindness on all our neighbors.

No one has greater love than this, that they would surrender their life in behalf of their friends. One day, I hope I can be as selfless and loving as Mrs Gilbert Kaye. What an incredible person. I'm so sorry for what you have lost.

I first met Laurie when I was a young girl. Shes a friend of my mothers. She was always so kind, positive and bright. When my father was diagnosed with cancer, Laurie stepped up to help us find good medical advice. She was a wonderful person and is a true heroine. Im completely humbled and honored to have known her. May her sacrifice help to rid this world of the scourge of hate that plagues us and remind us that we must unite in love.
