Linda Peterson Obituary

Linda Gail Peterson, born January 29th, 1948 in Birmingham, Alabama had a peaceful journey back to the Divine and her mother and sister in heaven on May 2nd, 2024. Linda moved to Durango, Co in 2011 to be near her daughter Nichole Fox and granddaughters Seneca Wilson and Fawn Sagetree. She contributed to their lives through unconditional love and copious amounts of butter. At Tamarin Square, where she lived, you could always count on her for a hello and smile.

Linda was a loving mother, aunt, and grandmother, and her hearty, boisterous laugh still echoes in our minds and hearts. She was a woman of immense strength and character, as well as many peoples' protector-angel. Linda was an advocate for women everywhere and was always willing to stand up for those whose voices were underrepresented. She was available for anyone that needed a shoulder to cry on or a listening ear. Linda knew no strangers, she was a friend to all. Always ready for an adventure and a lover of nature, she was a lifelong learner who was eager to learn more about this big beautiful world. Her capacity to give of herself is a legacy for this world. We will miss the light and love that she brought to the planet, and the care that she shared so generously will live on forever.

She was proud to have been able to attend Pennsylvania State University. She worked as a case manager for those who were homeless and living with mental health issues, and was a fierce advocate for this disenfranchised population.

Linda is survived by her three beloved children, Garry, Jeff and Nichole, and her beloved grandchildren Zachary, Summer, Brandon, Nicholas, Kylie, Katie, Seneca, and Fawn, her beloved niece Michelle, her nephews Rob, Joel, her brother, sister Liz, and many friends. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on May 15th, 5pm at Tamarin Square Social Room, 1401 East 3rd Ave, Durango, CO 81301
