Leon Every Obituary

Leon Charles Every died Tuesday, March 5, 2012, at his home in Moab, Utah. He was 63. The cause of death was gastrointestinal internal bleeding.

Mr. Every was born March 17, 1948, to Esther Teeslink Every and Arthur Lee Every in Crawford.

Mr. Every attended elementary school in Colorado and Green River, Utah, and was a graduate of Grand County High in Moab in 1966.

In 1967, Mr. Every continued his education at the College of Eastern Utah in Price, Utah.

In the early 1970s, Mr. Every began working as an underground electrician, mechanic and welder for various coal and gold mines in Wyoming, Colorado, Arizona, and Utah.

In October of 1967, Mr. Every married Mary Denise Byrd. The marriage ended in divorce in 1974.

From 1976 until 1992, Mr. Every lived in Hermosa, where he commuted to work at the King Coal Mine.

In the summer of 1978, Mr. Every married Nita Brown in Aztec, N.M. The marriage ended in divorce in 1985.

In his free time, Mr. Every enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and four-wheeling.

He was known for his love and care for animals and spending time with his friends, his family said.

From 2008 until the last days of his life, Mr. Every was a member of the Moab Elks Lodge, a social club involved in community service.

Mr. Every is survived by his mother, Esther Teeslink Every of Moab; his brother, Fred Every of Moab; his son, Charley Every of Moab; his daughter, Christy Jacobson of Mountain Green, Utah; six grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were held Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Spanish Valley Mortuary in Moab.
