Rest in peace, my old friend. I could not, and will not ever match your love of life. I will always relive our talks and smiles. Your dedication to your craft is unmatched. God gained a true hero. Rest easy my friend. Your work is done here. Prayers of love and comfort to your family.

I met Leo when I was in the first paramedic class held in Durango back in 1999-2000. He was the instructor and an exceptional one. I learned so much from him. He not only was a great teacher, he was a great mentor. We remained friends long after the class was over. He will forever be remembered as a kind and humble man and always a friend to everyone. Heaven has received wonderful soul. My prayers are with his family for comfort and healing. Know that you will see him again someday.

Leo was a mentor, friend and colleague in search & rescue and the fire department, and he supported me in a career change to healthcare. He tirelessly contributed untold hours of service to the local community and had an impact well beyond it. Many great memories too of Leo including back country skiing trips, and helping rig a rope rescue "highline" across the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. Leo, you were taken from this earth way too soon. May you rest in peace. And peace and comfort to the family you left behind.

Our hearts are heavy with learning of the loss of Leo but so full of memories, smile and love having known him. Being around Leo was always an adventure and you always knew you were in for a good time no matter what the conditions, he approached life with a twinkle in his eye, a smile on his face and always with a little bit of mischief. Much love to the Lloyd family, Leo is deeply missed!

Leo & Susie were my first neighbors when I moved to Durango. Leo was a mentor, friend, and stalwart companion and leader on many Search & Rescue adventures. He had a tremendous positive impact on all who knew him.
