Kevin Harper Obituary

Lifelong Cortez resident Kevin Eugene Harper died Sunday, June 6, 2010, at Southwest Memorial Hospital. He was 34. The

cause of death was not disclosed.

Mr. Harper was born to Nolan and Jacqueline Sue (Crilly) Harper on July 14, 1975, in Durango.

On May 24, 1998, he married Kristi Potter at Church of the Nazarene in Cortez.

A self-taught truss designer, Mr. Harper worked at ProBuild for 14 years.

"He was a wonderful husband and father," his family wrote. "Kevin was also a devoted Christian."

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, riding motorcycles and spending time in the mountains.

Mr. Harper is survived by his wife of 12 years, Kristi Harper, of Cortez; children Tanner Harper and Brooklynn

Harper, both of Cortez; parents, Nolan and Jacqueline Harper, of Mancos; brothers Larry Chandler of Phoenix and Gary

Chandler of Lakewood; and sister, Karen Yose, of Sammamish, Wash.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 2010, at Ertel Memorial Chapel, 42 N. Market St. in Cortez. A

graveside service will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2010, at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mancos.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Harper's name at the First National Bank of Cortez, 140 W. Main St.,

Cortez, CO 81321.
