Kerry Wanstrath Obituary

Some men can, where others cannot. Kerry Wanstrath could in every way, and he did with style, humor, realism, and grit. The way in which he did set a benchmark for living life in full, for all his family and friends. Kerry was a waterman and outdoorsman. Kerry loved adventure, whether surfing in Hawaii, bowhunting in the Colorado alpine, kiteboarding on the snow, fly fishing on the Animas river, wake-surfing at Lake Nighthorse, discovering secret ruins in canyon country, or traveling the world in pursuit of new experiences. Kerry's storytelling of his legendary (and frequently hazardous) adventures would make us want to push and explore our own limits. For those friends and family who experienced the adventures of life alongside Kerry our bond was unequalled.

Kerry lived with pure joy and wonder. He was a respected business owner, a multi-patented innovator, a savvy investor, a guitarist, a constant jokester, the best dad his two kids (Jason and Chelsea) could have ever asked for, and a loving husband to his wife Addi for 52 years.

On January 1st, 2022 Kerry passed away with his family holding him tightly while he transitioned to make waves in the sky above. Kerry passed leaving a legacy of teachings for his grandson, Maverick.

A Celebration of Life for Kerry will be held on June 24th, 2023. Please contact his family for further details.
