Kay Sherman Obituary

Kay Anita Sherman, born Kay Swanson on February 24, 1941, in St. Paul, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2024, at the age of 83. Kay was the daughter of Robert and Lorraine Swanson. She grew up in Minnesota, where fond memories were made, especially at White Bear Lake and the Minnesota State Fair.

Kay worked for the City of St. Paul, MN, before eventually moving to Durango, CO, where she continued her career with the City of Durango. Kay moved to Durango to be with Lester "Jerry" Sherman and they married on December 21, 1993, and together they built a life filled with love and family.

Kay had a love for Silverton Colorado, quilting, baking, carousels, antiques, Halloween and the magic of The Wizard of Oz. These passions brought light and joy into her life and the lives of those around her.

She is survived by her children, son Bobby Brown and daughter Shelley Langbehn Brown, as well as her stepchildren Kate, Scott, and Brett Sherman. Her legacy also lives on in her grandchildren and their loved ones.She was proceeded in death by her husband Jerry Sherman.

Kay will be remembered for her warmth, her ever present smile, and her pan-a-cakes.

Her family will welcome guests at the River House, 495 Animas View Drive, on Saturday, October 19 from from 11:00 to 1:00. Please stop by and share your memories.

I didn´t get the opportunity to see Grandma Kay much growing up. , I remember her visiting during christmas and having us watch the Wizard of oz. It became a tradition that I still do with my family now.
