Kathy Wiggins Obituary

Kathy Wiggins was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1946. She pursued a teaching degree from Eastern Michigan University and taught on the Dine' reservation in Lukachuki, Arizona. In 1973, she married Bob Wiggins and settled in Bayfield, Colorado. They had a daughter, Kim, in 1983. Kathy taught at Bayfield School District until her retirement in 2001. She later became a school administrator on the Dine' and Hopi reservations and spent her later years in Scottsdale, Arizona with her partner, Ben.

Kathy enjoyed riding her horses in the Weminuche wilderness, hunting, gardening, playing bridge and golf. Her vibrant and strong spirit will be missed by her surviving family members, including her brother Rick, partner Ben, daughter Kim, and granddaughter Autumn. Kathy's journey ended in October 2024, leaving a legacy of love and treasured memories.

Kim and family ~ my wife Joleen worked with Kathy for many years and I came to know her through the school. We always had fond memories of her and she was a GREAT teacher and a good wine maker. She will be missed. Only the very best wishes and prayers to all of you.
