Kathryn Worley Obituary

Kathryn (Kathy) Marie Worley, 63, of Bayfield, CO passed away at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, TX on August 19, 2017, after a short battle with cancer. She was born on June 9, 1954 to James and Frances Price at Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, GA. She returned to Cameron where she attended Yoe High School. She was also in the Yoe High band. After graduation she attended Blinn College at Brenham, TX. She moved to Austin to work at the University of Texas where she met and married her husband of 39 years, Bob Worley. After retiring from the Mechanical Engineering Department, they moved to Bayfield, CO.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Bob, of Bayfield. CO, her mother, Frances R. Price and one brother, Douglas Price of Cameron, TX. She is also survived by two nieces, Jennifer Price and Lee Worley Raby, and one nephew, Adam J. Price, plus other relatives in and around the Houston, TX area.

Kathy and Bob vacationed in southwest Colorado for 25 years where their dream was to retire and live in the Rocky Mountains. She and Bob achieved that dream in 2005 when they moved to Bayfield. Kathy and Bob loved performing music (especially music by John Denver), as "The Worleys" at campgrounds near them at Vallecito Lake, and in and around Bayfield. One of her greatest loves was raising their dachshunds, Lily Grace and Holly Faith.

A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the Bayfield Senior Center located at 111 W. South St. in Bayfield, CO.
