Joshua Archambault Obituary
Former Durango resident Joshua Cole Archambault died in a skiing accident Friday, March 12, 2010, at Park City Mountain
Resort in Utah. He was 27.
Mr. Archambault was born to Daniel and Billie Archambault on Aug. 3, 1982. He graduated with the Evanston High School
Class of 2001 in Wyoming.
Mr. Archambault moved to Houston and graduated with a 4.0 grade point average from Tomball College with an associate's
degree in science. Among the honors he received at Tomball were National Science Foundation Scholar, Who's Who among
Students in American Junior Colleges 2004, Tomball Math Scholarship and Student Excellence Awards for mathematics,
biology, anatomy and physiology. He also served as a Tomball College ambassador and was a member of the Tomball Budget
Committee and Tomball College Culture Club. He was a student-government representative and was treasurer of the
National Spanish Honor Society.
Mr. Archambault then went on to graduate with honors from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff with a bachelor's
degree with double majors in mechanical engineering and pre-med. He was a leader with the N.A.U. Baja Club and the
N.A.U. Hall Council.
After graduation, he was accepted into BP's Challenge Engineering Program, where he served rotating engineering
assignments in the Gulf of Mexico, Durango - from 2008 to 2009 - and, most recently, was excited to return to Evanston
as a facilities-operations manager for the Overthrust.
Mr. Archambault enjoyed music, sports and friends. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, American Indian Science and
Engineering Society, Tomball Regional Hospital Volunteer and Star of Hope Food Drive.
“During his young life span, Josh has made a great impact on those who have met him, even for the briefest moments,
with his smile, laugh and positive attitude," his friends at BP Durango wrote. “Josh had a kind heart and was a great
friend to many, making sure there was never a dull moment with his friends and family."
Mr. Archambault is survived by his father, Daniel Archambault, of Jeffery City, Wyo.; mother and stepfather, Billie and
Grant Seerley, of Houston; brothers Kyle Seerley of Houston and Shane Archambault of Shreveport, La.; grandmother Mary
H. Bell of Lander, Wyo.; grandparent Dunc Fergueson of Lander; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 19, 2010, at the Central Wyoming College Sinks Canyon Center,
50 Field Station Road in Lander.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Joshua Archambault Memorial Fund, Wells Fargo Bank, 70
Yellow Creek Road, Evanston, WY 82930.
