Joseph Taulli Obituary

74-year-old Joseph Raymond "Ray" Taulli died June 3, 2021, at his home, after deciding 1 1/2 years ago not to be treated for terminal lung cancer with which he had been diagnosed but to live out his life "His way." He continued working from home until a few weeks before his death, a noble example of his fantastic work ethic and love for those with whom he worked.

He leaves his son, Joseph Taulli, and wife Lisa; his daughter Kristin Taulli Knipp and husband Bucky Knipp; and daughter Gina Taulli.

He leaves behind his stepchildren of 21 years, Jordan Blea and wife Tarah; Brookelyn Peterson and husband Brent; and Brittany Eberhardt and husband Gordon.

He had 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Siblings are George Taulli, Rick Taulli and Roseann Taulli Herrera.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and June Taulli; brothers Johnny and Chucky; and daughter Dina Taulli.

Ray was born in Lynwood, California. Shortly after his birth, his family moved to Pueblo, Colorado, and later to Denver.

When in the 9th grade, Ray decided to quit school and go to work without mentioning it to his folks. When the school called them and spilled the beans, the jig was up, but Ray refused to go back, determining at that early age to live his life "his way." The job he had taken was pouring concrete which foreshadowed his lifelong career.

He worked for a few other concrete companies. Still, He wound up working for one of the largest and most diversified in the world, 4 Corners Materials, for 46 1/2 years, learning and excelling in every aspect of the business and working his way up the ladder. He liked sales the best and made lifelong friends with many clients with his easygoing charm and work ethic.

Ray enjoyed fishing with the family. Ray also loved motorcycles and nearly always had one. He enjoyed riding with friends and his wife, Amber. When asked to sum up his life, he said, "It was a great ride."

He will be genuinely missed until we meet again.

A celebration of life will be held in late summer or early fall and a notification will be posted a few weeks prior to the selected date.

What an incredible man. I worked with Ray on various projects going back to 1980. He always kept a level head and a positive outlook while forging forward on difficult projects. He will be missed by all in the construction industry in this part of the state. See you on the “other side” Ray.

He touched so many people throughout his life and career, he felt like a Dad to me, he was very great man, He always looked out for me and my family. It was never about himself it was about how everyone else was doing. RIP Sir. Prayers and condolences to Amber and the family.
