Joseph Ritter Obituary

In Loving Memory of Joe Ritter

May 4, 1949 - November 10, 2024

Joseph Ritter, 75, of Bayfield, Colorado, passed away on November 10, 2024.

Born on May 4, 1949, in Tucumcari, New Mexico, to Earl and Betty Ritter, Joe grew up on a farm near Aztec, New Mexico.

Joe graduated from Aztec High School in 1967 and served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1970, earning the Vietnam Service and Campaign Medals. Upon returning home, he began a 53-year career in the oilfield. Founding his own construction company allowed him to work closely with his family, a source of great pride and joy.

Joe is survived by his wife, Denise; his children, Danny (Tara), Perry (Tamara), and Megan (Craig); his siblings, Betty Carol (Terry), Wayne (Laurie), and Tim (Lynette); his granddaughters, Kendra and Darian (Ian); and his great-granddaughters, Skylar and Brooklyn..

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to your favorite charity or the Veterans Administration in Joe's memory.

Joe was our neighbor and friend for many years. He would always greet with a smile. I´ll miss seeing him come the road in his shine red truck. God bless you, Joe.
