Joseph Montoya Obituary

So sad to hear about my dear cousins passing. Thanks to God, he didn´t suffer very long. I was kind of dreading going to Mass yesterday, as I knew I wouldn´t see his glowing smile or get a tender hug from him. I could always count on him for thatAmazing enough I believe I felt his presence. We are sending all of our love and prayers to the family

I never told you Richard but I envied you in so many ways. Your ability to see something good in situations the rest of us saw only bad in. Your ability to make people smile when they didn't want to. You were and always be an inspiration to me..a bright ray of sunshine in every memory I have of you. I will miss you my friend. Rest in Peace.

Richard has always been a great friend to me over the many years I've known him. I can honestly say he is one of the best men I've ever known. I will forever miss him, and cherish the many great memories. Fly high Churd!!!!

I saw Richard at Aunt Theresa's birthday party. He has always been so sweet, and always smiling. God give the family peace and strength

Richard was 13 years old when I came into the family. The Montoya Family is huge, but Richard stood out because he was so sweet to everyone, very helpful and was always smiling. His faith was something to admire about him, which I hope gives all the family comfort. You will be missed by many Richard.

They say your cousins are your first best friends. This is so true with Richard. I´ll forever remember playing in the street with Richard either football, catch, or Army. You be missed by so many, but never forgotten.

Richie will be missed! One of the nicest, friendliest, and most wonderful man I´ve known.

I have known Richard since he was a little guy, he made his 1st Holy Communion with my son Phillip Martinez. He has always been a sweet and friendly person, he always said hello to me when ever I would see him. I am truly saddened by his sudden passing, my heart goes out to his dad, mom and siblings. I miss you

There is a story that Will Rogers once said "I've never met a man that I didn't like". Well Richard was the living definition of that quote! And the sentiment is true, how people felt about him. I can honestly say, that there is no person alive that didn't, immediately feel blessed to have met him, and made to feel like they were one of his best friends.
I witnessed how he loved his children, and always showed how proud he was to be their "daddy"!
I know that he is now an angel, sitting next to our Lord, and watching over his family, which includes anyone who ever knew him.
The world just lost a truly special man, but heaven gained one!
