Jonathan Chamblee Obituary

Jonathan Daniel Chamblee was born July 5, 1973 in Enid, Oklahoma. He passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 23, 2022 in El Centro, California. The cause of death was cardiovascular disease.

Dan moved to Durango with his parents in December 1973 and attended schools in Durango and Bayfield, graduating from Bayfield High School in 1991. He enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in Okinawa and at Camp LeJeune, NC. He spent several years working as a directional driller in the oil fields and worked in North Dakota and Wyoming as well as Colorado and Utah.

In June 2012 Dan married the love of his life, Michelle Cristiano Chamblee, in Vernal. He is survived by his wife, Michelle, sons Jacob Daniel and Nathan Thomas Chamblee, stepsons Nick (Cassie) Nyce of Vernal, and Gage Nyce of Salt Lake City; daughters Annalyse and Cora Chamblee and Alicia Trujillo of Denver. He is also survived by grandchildren Maddi and Barrett Nyce of Vernal, his mother Lucia Schirard, brothers Micah (Tiffany) Chamblee and Aaron (Jennifer) Chamblee, sister Catie Chamblee (Clint) all of Bayfield. He is also survived by his in-laws Dave and Christy Cristiano, and many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Dan was preceded in death by his stepfather, Duke Schirard, aunt Leslie Paddock, maternal grandparents Ruth Paddock, William L Paddock, and paternal grandparents Bud and June Chamblee.

A celebration of life was held on Mar. 13, 2022 in Vernal.
