Jon Duffy Obituary

Jon Francis Duffy, son of Forest Lakes residents Frank and Geraldine Duffy, died of heart failure Tuesday, Jan. 26,

2010, at work in St. Paul, Minn. He was 54.

Known as “Duff," he was born to the Duffys on Sept. 11, 1955, in Chicago.

He married his wife, Kimberly, in 1997 in Las Vegas.

His parents said Mr. Duffy was fulfilling his life's dream as a “rail man," as he worked as a licensed engineer for

the Union Pacific Railroad. The railroad closed all of its runs for several hours Saturday so everyone could attend

the memorial service.

“He had countless 'buds' who will miss his friendship, generosity of self and laughter," his parents wrote. “Our Jon

loved animals."

Mr. Duffy is survived by his wife, Kimberly Duffy, of St. Paul; parents, Frank and Geraldine Duffy, of Forest Lakes;

sister, Robin Duffy-Wirth, of Forest Lakes; brothers Brendan Duffy and Cory Duffy, both of Chicago; two nephews and a

niece; several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010, in St. Paul.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the La Plata County Humane Society, 1111 South Camino del Rio, Durango, CO

81303.
