I met John in Durango in about 1970 - the Quonset Huts provided sub-subcultural housing for many of us back then. John made friends easily. He was a little more worldly than most of us stump-jumper hippies. I remember his folks owned the Cat and the Fiddle bar downtown, and that he & Lauren helped me get a job at her folks' rental supply shop south of town. Fond memories of their kindness & his easy-going style. Not surprised they found a full-life of love & many friendships in Las Cruces after leaving Durango. Condolences to you, Lauren.
