Johan Wilson Obituary

Johan L. Wilson, loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend passed from this life into the arms of Jesus on February 17, 2025. Johan known as "Joan" to her friends and family was born on November 8, 1934 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Bessie (Talbert) Rule and Clifford Wilson.

Johan owned and operated the Plaza Beauty Salon from the early 70's until the late 90's. She worked at Shampoo Salon until she was 83, when finally retired.

Her passions included fishing, bowling, bridge club, sewing, cooking, and crochet. She always looked forward to watching basketball, football, and baseball. She was an avid Denver Nuggets, Broncos, and Rockies fan; but, her greatest joy was spending time with family - enjoying meals, playing board & card games and "schooling" all of us in every one of them.

She is survived by her four children, Stan (Dana) Horn, Kim (Gary) Chambers, Jaccinda Moffat, and Tommy (Karen Faul) Jacques, Sister Mary Sue (Kent) Rominger, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother Bessie Rule, sisters Patsy Langston and Bennie John, and brother Butch Wilson.

Although Johan is gone, she will live in our hearts forever. She lived her life like no other. Her unwavering and never-ending love will always be engrained in us.

A celebration of her life will be at Hood Mortuary on Saturday, February 22, at 2pm, followed by interment at Greenmount Cemetery and a catered reception at 4:30pm, Durango VFW hall.
