Jim Arellano Obituary

Durango native Jim C. Arellano died Tuesday, May 5, 2009, in the company of friends and family. He was 69.

He was born on Dec. 19, 1939, in Durango and spent his childhood here before moving to Billings, Mont., as a teenager.

Mr. Arellano was a craftsman and handyman, using his many skills during

his years of service in the maintenance department of the Billings

Catholic Schools.

He was always ready to share his talents with his many friends and family.

He donated his time and resources to causes such as Our Lady of

Guadalupe's South Side Fiesta, Little League Baseball and Relay for

Life.

Mr. Arellano is survived by his wife, Vicki; three children, Lorri

Kroll, Suzanne Pacot and John Arellano; his mother, Teresa Scott; an

aunt, Mary Garcia; brothers Joe Scott and Bob Scott; and a sister,

Concha Diehl.

Vigil services will be held at 7 p.m., Monday, May 11, 2009, and

funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 12, 2009, both

at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Billings.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Billings Catholic School

Foundation, P.O. Box 31158, Billings, MT 59107. Donations will be used

to purchase a school bench in his honor.
