Jerry Van Moseley Obituary

Longtime Durango resident Jerry Van Moseley died Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, in Durango. He was 62. The cause of death is undetermined at this time.

Mr. Moseley was born to Odie and Ila Moseley on July 2, 1948, in Sweetwater, Texas.

He worked for many years on the oil rigs, where he lost an eye. He later worked in the restaurant industry. In Durango, he worked at Francisco's Restaurante y Cantina, Oscar's Cafe, Denny's Restaurant and K-Bob's Steakhouse.

During the last year of his life, his daughter Tina's companion Stephen Aragon helped take care of him.

In his spare time, he enjoyed painting, writing music, playing his guitar and singing while enjoying libations.

Mr. Moseley is survived by his daughters Tina Moseley of Hesperus, Kimberly Moseley of Cortez and Patricia Cage of Albuquerque; son, Jeremy Moseley, of Cortez; brother, Joe Mosele,y of San Angelo, Texas; sister, Carolyn Guinn, of Jacksonville, Fla.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private service.
