Jaxon Formea Obituary

Jaxon James Formea of Ignacio died Aug. 28, 2012, 10 days after his second birthday, at Colorado Children's Hospital in Aurora from complications of a bone-marrow transplant. He had osteoporosis, a rare bone disease for a child.

He was born to Jim and Tabitha Formea on Aug. 18, 2010, in Durango.

Jaxon touched everyone he met. All the ladies loved his big beautiful eyes and bright personality. Considered a "superstar" at Children's Hospital, he was always smiling no matter how sick he got. He loved music, shaking his "booty," acting like the Incredible Hulk, listening to stories, playing with the lights and riding in his little car.

His favorite foods were apples, macaroni and cheese and Cheetos. He loved walking around bare foot and wearing hats, especially his Dada's Denver Broncos hat.

He is survived by his parents, Jim E. and Tabitha Formea of Ignacio; grandparents, Ron and Sarah Thompson of Bayfield, and Jim and Florence Formea of Ignacio; great grandparents, John and Dorothy Formea of Albuquerque, and Isabel Kitsale of Phoenix; numerous aunts and uncles; numerous great-aunts and great-uncles; and cousins.

A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, also at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. The Rev. Douglas Hunt will officiate. Burial will occur at Pine River Cemetery in Bayfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Jaxon's name to Children's Hospital of Colorado-Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, 13123 East 16th Ave, Aurora, CO 80045 or www.childrenscolorado.org, and to Brent's Place, 11980 East 16th Ave, Aurora, CO 80010 or www.brentsplace.org
