James Lee "Buck" Roemer Jr.

James Roemer Obituary

Mancos resident James Lee Roemer Jr. died Wednesday, June 13, 2012. He was 35. The cause of death was not disclosed.

Known as "Buck," he was born to Rose Bethal and James Roemer Sr., on May 22, 1977, in Billings, Mont. He grew up in Tucson, Ariz.. He later moved to Mancos, where he met his future wife, Heather. Mr. Roemer built his family, home in Mancos and helped to raise the couple's four children.

"He loved to talk and was a philosopher of life," his friend Jenni Kitchen said. "He always said he was 'better than most and not as good as some.'"

Mr. Roemer is survived by his wife, Heather Roemer, of Mancos; children Annalisa, Elizabeth, Alexander and James Roemer III, all of Mancos; sisters, Vanessa Varner and Amber Lincoln, both of Tucson; and extended family members.

A celebration of life will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, at Mary Jane's Campground in Stoner. The family and friends invite attendees to come "smile, it makes people wonder."
