My Uncle Jim took over the task of acting as my father in 1968 when my Dad died. I will be forever grateful for having his love and advice. I miss him.

Uncle Jim was such a bright light. He was one of the "good ol' boys". I always looked forward to seeing him at the family reunions and hearing him sing, and every morning when I would see him I was greeted with "Good morn'n darl'n. You're so purty"
It always made my day. I'm sure going to miss him, but I know he's happy up in heaven now singing and laughing with PawPaw. I'm sending prayers of peace and love to all the family. God bless

I am so very proud to have known Jim Mayfield. He was a very special man to so many of us and he someway always made us feel that we were special to him. He had a way about him that made everyone feel this way. He was a small man in stature but he had such a very big loving heart.
My heroes have always been cowboys and to me he was the prime example of the real working cowboy. Jim Mayfield was definately my hero.
We loved him so very much and it has left a big void in our hearts knowing he has left us. He will be missed by so many that loved him dearly.

After my Dad died in 1968, Uncle Jim took over as my second Dad. I loved him with all my heart and will miss him being there for advice. He always came through with a good scenario to follow when I was lost in some situation. As long as health permitted, I was there to celebrate each birthday with him. We laughed together and at each other. His passing has left a big whole in my heart. I know he is singing his songs with his brothers and sisters and praising the Lord for the long life he was able to live.

Uncle Jim was the light of my life. I loved him so very much. He will be missed. I am very blessed having had the opportunity to be a part of his music family. My heart breaks knowing that I will not have anymore song with him. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family. I love you all very much. God Bless.
