Jim was a true gentleman and an outstanding cop.
When I first moved to the area he was the Bayfield Marshall.
Jim was the first law enforcement officer who helped me and introduced me to his deputies.
I worked with some of them throughout the rest of my career.
Our sincere condolences to his family, he will be missed not only by the law enforcement community, but by everyone who ever met him.
Rest in peace my friend.

I worked with Jim, Robin and so many great people at LPSO for several years. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life, as I admired and learned so much from all of them. Jim was an imposing figure in stature and accomplishments and his legacy will remain forever. My deepest condolences to Robin and all of her family. You have been in my thoughts and prayers every day.

Jim was one of my first mentors in law enforcement. His passion and dedication to service made it easy for me to want to dedicate my life work to the same cause, and I did. Jim did his job well, yet left each person with their dignity in tact. His calm demeanor and tenacity were always evident. He was not just a great law man, but a genuine person. What you saw was what you got. It is hard to understand the tragedies and difficulties he faced later in life and why bad things happen to good people. Men like Jim are rare and I am very sorry to hear of his passing. I offer my deepest condolences to Robin and the entire family and to those who were with him on his last day. I pray that all of the good memories will help sustain you through the pain of his passing.

I hadn't seen Jim in years, then one day I was walking at the Bayfield cemetery and a small car pulled up, a very tall, familiar man got out of the vehicle, it was Jim. It still makes me smile when I think of this big man getting out of that car. He will be missed. Love and Light to his family and friends.

Jim was a true gentleman, strong, firm, kind and so fair. He would give you every chance in the world to do the right thing, but dont abuse that chance. We worked together with high school kids for almost 20 years. He was the best I ever worked with. I cant imagine not seeing his wonderful smile until we meet again. Get on a horse and ride my friend!

It is with the most heartfelt sadness that I post this message. Jim was a Warrior... He believed his job was to Serve and Protect those who relied upon him to do the "right thing". I had the pleasure and honor of working with Jim in the 70's... He was a Cop's... Cop!
RIP my friend your service on this planet is done...
