PHILADELPHIA — Ilaena Kay Koprowski, 46, of Philadelphia, formerly of Luzerne, died in Jefferson Frankford Hospital, Philadelphia, Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021.
Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Robert D. and Linda K. Trondson Koprowski; attended Sacred Heart Elementary School in Luzerne and graduated from Bishop O'Reilly High School, Class of 1992. She attended LCCC and later went onto school in Norfolk, Va., to become a massage therapist.
While in high school, she delivered the newspaper to residents on Walnut, Bennett and surrounding streets every morning and worked for a local florist in Kingston. She was later employed at the House of Nutrition in Dallas and Luzerne, prior to moving to Virginia, owning and operating Therapeutic Body Kneads, Norfolk. In 2009, she moved back to the Wyoming Valley to be closer to friends and family, continuing with her massage therapy.
Lana is survived by her siblings, Jacqueline Lehman and her husband, Patrick, of Hanover Township; Carl Koprowski and his companion, Patty, of Pittston; Alice Tomshaw and her husband, George, of Swoyersville; Edward Koprowski and his companion, Michelle, of Albuquerque, N.M.; Robert Koprowski and his fiancee', Rachael, of Pittston; and step-mother, Dorothy Koprowski, of West Nanticoke.
She is also survived by nieces, nephews, Mitchell (Ava) Petersen; Jessica Koprowski; Victoria Pitel; Brandon (Aundria) Koprowski; Bobby Koprowski; Patrick Lehman; Carl Koprowski; MaryTheresa Lehman; Eden Koprowski; Jeremy Smith Koprowski; great-nieces and nephew; cousins and friends, especially her lifelong friend, Sarah Gallagher Frace and her husband, John, of Kingston and their four children.
Funeral service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, at 2 p.m. from the Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville and interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery, with her parents.
Friends are invited to join the family for a visitation Sunday from 12 noon until time of service.
