Genevieve Quintana Obituary

Genevieve R. Quintana, age 92, passed away Friday, December 4, 2015 at home surrounded by her family. Genevieve is survived by her children, Linda Medina, Michael Quintana and wife, Helen, Carla Chirigos and husband, Mickey and Kathy Suarez and husband, Marshall; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Carlos A. Quintana; her parents, Feliciana Ortiz Roybal and Hipolito Roybal; five sisters, Olympia Sanchez, Ernestina Quintana, Annie Gonzales, Celina Marquez, and Martha Roybal; and eight brothers, Silviano, Carlos, Louis, Tom, Tony, Mike, Dale, and Victor. Genevieve was born and raised in Durango, CO and moved from Durango to Pojoaque, NM when she married Carlos in 1945. She lived in Pojoaque, NM until 1998, when she moved to Albuquerque to be close to her family. Rosary will be recited Thursday, December 10, 2015, 7:00 p.m. at Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe del Valle de Pojoaque, 9 Grazing Elk Dr., Pojoaque, NM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, December 11, 2015, 11:00 a.m. at Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe del Valle de Pojoaque with interment to follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe Church del Valle in Pojoaque or Share Your Care Adult Day Services, 2651 Pan American Freeway, NE, Suite A, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
