Esther Moore Obituary

Esther passed away peacefully the morning of Nov. 1, 2018, at the age of 92. She was born to Jack and Clara Wellington on January 27, 1926 in Glenwood Springs, CO. She spent her early years on the family ranch near Edwards, CO. After living in several towns along the Western Slope Esther moved to Durango in the early 1950s. It was in Durango that she met her future husband, Robert (Bob) Moore.

Esther was always busy with various clubs, organizations, and activities. She was an avid bridge player and continued to work until she was 88. She loved fishing and would often tell stories of going fishing with her dad and brother or throughout southwest Colorado with Bob and their sons. She was a strong and independent person with a good sense of humor and an even better laugh.

The people she loved, she loved dearly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, and great great grandma. She will be deeply missed by all. She is survived by her son Ron and his wife Jeri, granddaughter Niki and her husband Jake Franchini and their son Ben; grandson Brian; granddaughter Rhonda and her husband Thomas Young and their children Ron and his wife Gayle; Tommie; Erin and her husband Aaron, and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Bill High and her husband Bob.

No services are planned at this time, but in celebration of her life the family would suggest you cook up some hot dogs and get a bag of potato chips.
