Eric Scott Obituary

Eric Scott, 43, of Durango, CO, died 9/21/2023, Durango, CO, Born 1/25/1980. A service will be held at A celebration of life will be held this spring. Eric Scott, aka EZ, died on 9/21/23 at 43 years from lung and heart complications. But . . . really he died of a broken heart. We can take solace in knowing he joins his daughter, Jolean, and brother, Jesse, in the spirit world.

Eric grew up skiing the slopes of Purgatory and later managed his own remodeling business. Eric and Mia Wiggins, their mother, raised their children, Cassidy, Jolean, and Cecil with a profound passion for the mountains. Survived by his children, Cassidy and Cecil; Father, Michael Scott; Mother, Deb Anderson.

My heart goes out to Deb and Scotty, I hope the best for you. I will always remember Eric as a wonderful skier, one of the best Durango has ever produced and always will be remembered.

Eric was a giver ! His religion was a pew that was a log at the head of Lime Creek, his sermon was an Elk or Turkey call in the San Juans and his Holy Water was anywhere he could fish . I miss him already!!!
