Eda Tomasi Obituary
Ms. Tomasi was born in Silverton to Ben and Katie Tomasi on Sept. 1, 1925.
She was a longtime employee of the federal government. She began her
career in 1944 at the Silverton post office. In 1960, Ms. Tomasi
transferred to the Durango post office and then to the Bureau of
Reclamation in Cortez. In 1963, she went to work for the San Juan
National Forest in the accounting department. In her final position
with the government, she worked for the Bureau of Reclamation in
Durango until her retirement in 1984. Ms. Tomasi also worked as a
telephone operator, bookkeeper and clerk.
Ms. Tomasi was an active member at St. Patrick's Church in Silverton and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Durango.
She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening - especially flowers - and hiking in Silverton during mushroom season.
Ms. Tomasi is survived by her sister, Lydia R. Tomasi of Durango; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
No services will be held.
