Dorothy Culp Obituary

Dorothy Feller Culp passed away, Feb. 5, 2015, she was 82. Dorothy was born Nov. 30, 1932 to Dan & Florence (Huntwork) Feller in Pueblo, CO. The family moved to Durango in 1946, where they purchased land in the Animas Valley, which later became known as the Feller Farm. Dorothy graduated Durango High, in 1950, as valedictorian.

Dorothy started her career in Durango working for local attorneys & ended her career as the the 6th Judicial District Administrator for the State of Colorado. Retirement years allowed time for travel, gardening, crafts & enjoying the bird and animal life in her Falls Creek mountain home. She loved her Lord, her family & her friends. She was active in her church throughout the years & lived a life of unwavering faith.

She is survived by her husband: Gerald Culp; her children: Lonne Bailey & Scott Kelly; her grandchildren; her brothers: David Feller, Robert Feller and Daniel Feller; her sisters: Virginia Schaaf & Sue Henderson; also her numerous step grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and stepchildren who she considered her own.

A service will be held on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015 at 10 a.m., at the First Southern Baptist Church 1715 W. 2nd Ave, Durango, Pastor Clyde Johnson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Greenmount Cemetery.

We will be remembering all of you as we recall the previlege of getting to know this beautiful lady. We do look forward to renewing our friendship when we meet again in Heaven. ( maybe she will make a black-eyed pea pie!) We are praying The Lord will comfort and fortify you with His love.
