Donna Vecchio Obituary

Donna Del Vecchio died on January 1st, 2022 in Durango, Colorado, while watching her mule, Daisy run about in

her snowy corral. She was born in Davenport, Iowa in 1955, the 5th of nine children. She moved to Arizona right

after graduating from High School and lived the rest of her life in Arizona and Colorado. To say that Donna was

the most misunderstood Del Vecchio is an understatement. Because of her shenanigans over the years, she sort

of exhausted her credibility. But as it turns out, much of what she claimed she did and who she was, was actually

true. So she deserves her redemption. She would of liked everyone to know... She was a rooten tooten Cow

Girl.

Her favorite things were her animals: horses, a mule and a donkey, and children. She adored all of her nieces

and nephews. She saved the wishbones from chickens she'd eaten in a special container so the children could

make a wish when they came to visit. She had no children of her own and was never married, but the children of

her former boyfriend called her Mom for over 30 years. She enjoyed wine, doobies and Elton John. All of her

former employers adored her, some maintained their friendships long after she left their employ. Donna was the

sort of person that would take crumbs of love given to her and cherish them with all of her heart and soul. She

deserved more than she had, but somehow managed to live exactly the way she wanted. On her own, with her

animals and giant collection of classic rock and roll albums. Rock on Donna. I know when she got to heaven she

asked God to put Elton John on the turntable, and I'm sure God said absolutely not, we only play The Beatles up

here. Donna, we will remember you at a celebration of your life, we hope your spirit will attend on Saturday, July 30, 2022 in Santa Rita Park Large Shelter/Pavilion, 10 am - 4 pm.
