Donald Haga Obituary

Ignacio resident Donald Haga died Friday, July 2, 2010, at his home. He was 80.

Mr. Haga was born to Curtis and Anna Haga on July 22, 1929, in Portales, N.M. His family moved to Durango in 1946.

He served in the Air Force from 1953 to 1956 and was stationed in Alaska.

On Oct. 18, 1960, he married Joan Wolff in Durango.

Mr. Haga was a truck driver making local deliveries for H & H Oil from 1962 to 1986.

Mr. Haga enjoyed hunting, the outdoors and being with his family. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mr. Haga was preceded in death by his grandson Justin Daniels.

He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Joan Haga, of Ignacio; daughters Tammy Majeski of Bayfield, Linda

Ketchum of Hesperus and Terry Mandile of Cave Creek, Ariz.; son, Michael Daniels of Reston, Va.; sisters Noma White

of Kermit, Texas, and Elvina Hickman of Gravette, Ark.; brother, Marion Haga, of Clovis, N.M.; six grandchildren;

three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Cremation will occur. No services are planned at this time.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Disabled American Veterans, c/o Charlie Parnell for the Durango VA Clinic,

1970 E. Third Avenue, Durango, CO 81301; or to Hospice of Mercy, 1 Mercado St., Suite 270, Durango CO 81301.
