Della Millich Obituary

Ignacio resident Della Ervinia Millich died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at her home. She was 74.

Mrs. Millich was born May 12, 1935, in Caracas, N.M., to Amarante and Carlotta Quintana. She grew up in Rosa, N.M.,

which was flooded when the Navajo Reservoir was filled, and moved to Allison in the 1960s. She graduated from Ignacio

High School in 1955.

Mrs. Millich married Pete Millich Jan. 9, 1961, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Durango. The Milliches lived in

Durango for several years before moving to Ignacio in 1978. Mrs. Millich worked for 20 years in the Ignacio School

District as a librarian and aide before she retired.

She was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church and the Carmelitas. She enjoyed camping, riding horses and, most of

all, spending time with her family.

Mrs. Millich was preceded in death by grandchildren Raymond Millich Jr. and Carly Martin.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Pete Millich, of Ignacio; sons Pete Millich Jr. of Ignacio and Raymond

Millich Sr. of Cortez; daughter Ena Millich of Ignacio; sisters Inez Quintana of Ignacio and Olphelia Candelaria of

Blanco, N.M.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today, Jan. 7, 2010, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial

will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2010, also at St. Ignatius. The Rev. Doug Hunt will officiate. Burial

will occur at Rosa Cemetery in Arboles.
