I send my condolences, love and prayers to Debra's family. Debbie was one of my best friends and a roommate from Fort Lewis College and a great singer in the choir. She was an amazing and beautiful person and friend, and fun to sing with. A gentle soul and loving heart. My heart breaks, but I know she is in heaven. God bless you and keep you Debbie. Thank you for being a part of my life and for letting me be a part of yours. Amen.

Knowing the depth of care so many have had during the past year of struggle Debra had with cancer should be of comfort for all her loving survivors, but I fear it does not dull the immediate pain of loss!
I pray for courage and peace to accept what is. I was very fond of Debra, tho I live far away now I still wanted to send my condolences.

Debra walked a path of generosity and love. She gave those about her considerably more than she took, in word and deed.
I particularly remember her steadfast love of her family, her melodic voice, and her commitment to community and alma mater, FLC.
Though your breath may have ceased, your fragrant spirit will be remembered and cherished.

I feel blessed to have known this kind hearted and talented young woman. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her. One could tell that she was part of a loving family. I send you my sympathies at your great loss. I am excited to learn about the Debra Lehl scholarship at FLC. So fitting.

Debra was one special person. I met Debra when she was a student at Fort Lewis College. She helped with the Alumni Phonathon and she was a great fund-raiser. When alumni would express anger over the mascot change and would hang-up on her, she would politely call them back and indicate that perhaps the call had been disconnected. She would then continue the call and engage the alum to actually donate. Our paths crossed over the years and I always enjoyed visiting with her. She is a special angel and she made my life better because I knew her. My heartfelt sympathy to her parents and family. I encourage all who knew her to donate to her scholarship at Fort Lewis College. She represents the special Fort Lewis College student who loved the opportunity to attend and later work at the institution. Her passion and devotion to Fort Lewis College, in many ways was singular. She leaves a lasting legacy of being a positive, caring, intelligent and an extraordinary individual. May she rest in peace.

I haven't seen Debra since high school, but as her English teacher, I remember her as very bright, having a great eye for detail, and a terrific sense of humor. I'll cherish her memory. My condolences to Jerry, Shirley, and Dayna.

Debra, my beautiful and KIND friend, always patient, trustworthy, honorable, and lighthearted, never petty or angry....I know that we shall sing together again someday in the Choir of Angels, in the Sanctuary of the Saints, in glory and gladness as eternal friends....So I offer that - not as condolences to your family - but as hope...
for now, I miss and love you and will try to always honor your motto of being kind....Katherine
