David Crow Obituary

Former Durango resident David Arthur Crow died from injuries suffered in an automobile accident near Drummond, Mont., on Wednesday, May 8, 2013. He was 23.

Always the outdoorsman, he was on his way to go river rafting with his companion, native Durangoan Katrina May, who also died in the accident.

Mr. Crow was born June 28, 1989, in Littleton to Pete and Rita Crow. He attended Heritage High School in Littleton.

He came to Durango to attend Fort Lewis College. During the summers, he worked as a whitewater rafting guide and developed a passion for the river.

Mr. Crow later moved to Bozeman, Mont., and was attending Montana State University, majoring in sustainable fuels and biofuels with a focus on crop production.

He will be missed dearly by everyone who knew him, his family said.

He is survived by his parents, Pete and Rita Crow of Littleton; and a sister, Lauren Crow, of Superior, Colo.

Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. and a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2013, at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary in Centennial.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Littleton.

A memorial potluck for Mr. Crow and Ms. May will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013, at Rotary Park in Durango, behind the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4031 at 1550 Main Ave. Refreshments will be provided.
