St. George, Utah - Darlene Reidhead, 81, passed away April 26, 2022, surrounded by her family.
She was a New Year's baby born in Richfield, Utah to Dean Warnick Atwood and Arlena Heidenrich (Atwood) Duke. She graduated from Provo High School. After high school, she received her flight attendant certification. She married Norman Gustavson and they raised their three children in Springville, Utah. She later married Joe Reidhead and lived in Roosevelt, Utah, and Durango, Colorado where they built successful businesses and she wrote three jeeping books reflecting their passion for history and the mountains of Southwest Colorado. The next chapter of her life was with her husband Ken McNutt. They settled in St. George, Utah close to family and many new friends. St. George was their portal to the Paria Plateau where they spent many seasons covering every mile of the Vermilion Cliffs.
Darlene was passionate and successful at anything she set out to do. She was a homemaker, realtor, business owner, gardener, historian for the Silverton, CO area, outdoor enthusiast and most recently making crafts to raise money for the St. George Regional Hospital through the St. George Hospital Guild.
Darlene is survived by her first husband, Norman Gustavson; and their three children: Lauryn Atwood (Ken), Rod Gustavson (Bob) and Dan Gustavson (Catherine); her sister, Jannette Jensen (Jim); sister in-law, Emily Atwood; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her second husband, Joe Reidhead; and his children: Stan Reidhead (Karen), John Reidhead (Jennifer), Leslie Blauer (Troy) and David Reidhead; and by her third husband, Ken McNutt's children: Greg McNutt (Gwynn) and Heather R. McNutt-Cady.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Arlena (Heidenreich) Duke; her brother, Bob Atwood; and husband, Ken McNutt.
An open house memorial will be held on Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 2 - 4 pm at her home in Saint George, Utah.

This benefit supports several important aspects of the hospital. Darlene was passionate about it and your donations in her honor will be very much appreciated.
