Daphne and Stan then moved to New Mexico, living in Albuquerque and then Gallup. She went back to Eastern New Mexico University to receive a certification as a school psychologist and worked in Gallup schools for several years.

The couple's last move was to Durango in 1996. Daphne worked in several jobs including San Juan BOCES, Southwest Center for Independence, Community Connections and at various retail stores. She volunteered at the Humane Society Thrift Store and for the La Plata County Senior Center. She loved her animals and she and Stan had several cats and a favorite dog, Frodo. Daphne, her sister and I were childhood friends. We lived across the street from each other. Spending hours together, playing, spending the night at each others homes, going to church on Sundays. There are far too many memories to remember but will cherish them all. I was heartbroken to hear of her passing. Until we meet again, Rest in Peace, my friend!

I knew Daphne from her years at EDC in Gallup. She was a good friend. She was always making us laugh. She lived and loved loud, as it should be. Rest in peace dear Daphne!

Daphne was a beautiful soul, I will always remember her with that ever present smile and laugh. We had a great shared memory of the people that asked for her autograph because they thought she was Bette Midler! The world is a little less bright without her light. God bless you Daph.
