Connie Riley Obituary

Ignacio resident Connie Harrison Riley died of complications related to Parkinson's disease on Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, in Durango. He was 71.

Mr. Riley was born to J.B. and Jewell Noel Riley in 1939 in Mackville, Ky. He owned and operated the Farmer's Supply Co. in Springfield, Ky., for more than 20 years before settling out west in Ignacio in the early 1990s.

He was an avid hiker, an ice cream aficionado and loved woodworking and fixing up old cars.

Mr. Riley was preceded in death by his granddaughter Berley Jo Riley.

He is survived by his daughters Jenny Schebler of Houston and Kim Woodruff of San Diego; son, Jeff Riley, of Washington, D.C.; siblings, Kenneth Riley, Brent Riley, Bob Riley, Joe Riley and Mary Gail Warner, all of Kentucky; former wife Gloria Riley of Prescott Valley, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.

A memorial ice cream social and hike are planned for summer 2011.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to his deceased granddaughter's memorial fund at www.BerleyJoRileyFund.com. Information about making donations is on the website.
