Cody Ledford Obituary

Cody Ledford was born on April 17, 2003 and was called to heaven on May 2, 2017. God needed an angel and what a wonderful caring angel He got. Cody had a zest for life and a smile that engaged all those around him. He was loved by all who knew him. He was affectionately known as, "Monkey Boy" by his family. Cody was a student at Escalante Middle School, where he enjoyed wrestling and football. He loved spending time with his friends snowboarding, skateboarding and hanging out. Cody was also actively involved in all the 4H leadership camps and conferences. He raised pigs, showed horses and was involved with shooting sports. He also had a "catch-it" heifer and was proud that he caught his calf first out of all the 4H members that participated. Cody loved hanging out at the Fair and he would spend every waking hour there. The La Plata County Fair will not be the same.

Cody is survived by his parents, Marshall & Rhonda; sister, Tyllor Ann; brother, Brandon; grandparents, Ron & Val Drumm, Suzan Rinner and Margaret Ledford; favorite aunts and uncles: Sherrie & Phil Catalano, Christy & George Morgan, Kim & Doug Dodd, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who never missed an opportunity to wrestle and pick on Cody. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the La Plata County 4H "Memory of Cody Ledford." He will be missed by all.

Services will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Columba Catholic Church. A celebration and remembrance to follow church services at the La Plata County Fairgrounds.

I kinda knew him but I do know his friends and they were in grief and I was in grief too. Any time I saw him he had a smile on his face, and so did his friends. He will surely and always be missed.
