Clorinda Archuleta Obituary

Clorinda Mary Archuleta passed away November 7 at Valley Inn in Mancos, CO. She was born November 19, 1931 in Lumberton, NM to Mary Abeyta Martinez and Patricio Martinez. She married Joe Archuleta of Hesperus in November 1948. She is survived by her children - Carolyn Archuleta of Colorado Springs, Edward Archuleta and his wife Janice of Mancos, Tim Archuleta of Centennial and Mary Jo Archuleta of Aztec, NM. , three grandchildren, Joseph and Morgan (Mimi) Archuleta of Mancos and Niklas Bettinger Archuleta of Centennial, and her sister, Josie Romero of Ignacio. She is preceded in her death by her husband, Joseph and two children, Kathleen Archuleta and Danny Archuleta.

She has numerous nieces and nephews across the country who hold her dear in their hearts. Family was very important to her and she maintained contact with her wide extended family and friends (even though she lost her phone regularly).

She never met a stranger and was willing to give or share whatever she had with anyone she met. In the last few years she lived in Centennial and Colorado Springs and has dear friends from both cities. She has maintained friendships her entire life and cherished all of them.

The services will be held at Sacred Heart church in Durango on Friday, Nov. 17. Rosary at 9:30 AM, Mass at 10:00AM and graveside service following at Greenmount Cemetery. Please join the family afterwards at the Sacred Heart school hall.

Our deepest condolences to the Archuleta family with the loss of your precious mother.
Gary and I will miss her dearly and we're so grateful to have had her near us for three+ years. We enjoyed her so much...her quick witt, joyful laughter and caring spirit. All that knew and loved her were enriched by her essence.
RIP, Aunt Clorie. You would be so proud of the strength and solidarity your children have displayed by honoring you. You and Uncle Joe raised them right.

I will always remember Clori and Joe´s hospitality when my family and I spent Christmas Day at their house one year. It´s a warm memory from my childhood.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Clorinda was a beautiful person inside and out. She welcomed me into her circle when I first started at Mercy and we were friends since then. I loved talking with her and all the laughter we shared. I will surely miss her. Rest easy my friend.

Ed, Tim, Carolyn, and Mary Jo, so sorry for the loss of your mother. I have nothing but fond and outstanding memories of all those years in Hesperus hanging out between my Grandfather's house and the Archuleta's house. Fly fishing on the La Plata River with Joe. Joe taught me how to fish.
