Cheryl Rome Obituary

It is with deep sadness and loss that we announce the passing of our precious Cheryl Jean Rome on Tuesday June 13, 2023. Cheryl was born September 29, 1945. She is preceded in death by her husband, both parents and younger brother Roger Hensley. Cheryl is survived by her son Wesley, daughter-in-law Sarah, grandchildren Olivia (Livie) and Donny of Durango, CO; a sister Carolyn Mostek of Oklahoma City, OK; a brother Paul Hensley of Mesa, AZ. Masses are being said for Cheryl at St. Columba Catholic Church on June 25th, June 30th, July 2nd and July 7th. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, June 22nd starting at 4pm at The Durango Elk's Lodge located at 901 E. 2nd Ave, Durango, CO. The family will provide a meal, and due to Cheryl's world-renowned sweet tooth, they are asking for potluck desserts in her honor. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you donate bulbs and perennials as they will be used to establish Gigi's Memorial Garden at the property in the Hermosa Valley.
