Charlotte McNeal Obituary

Long time Durango resident, Charlotte Marion McNeal, died August 10, 2017 at her home. She was 91. Charlotte was born in Leadville Colorado to Edna and John Kerzon, Jr., September 6, 1925. She was one of three children.
Charlotte met and married her husband Cyril P. McNeal, in Leadville after a 3-month courtship. they were married for 68 years and were each other's best friend. Charlotte was a "hairdresser" in her earlier years and later became a stay-at-home mother of a daughter and two sons. Once Cyril retired, they bought into their son, Mike McNeal's auto repair business. Charlotte took control of the books for the business, while Cyril and Mike ran the business. They were business partners for life. Charlotte continued being responsible for the books at the business until the day of her death. She was quite proud of her ability to remain actively working as well as remaining independent. She certainly was one of the hardest working women around.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her daughter Linda McNeal at four years old, her husband Cyril McNeal in 2014 and her brothers John and Wallace Kerzon. She is survived by her son Mike and wife Lisa and son Pete and wife Linda, two granddaughters and four great grandchildren.
No services will be held at this time.
