Gerry, Just heard about Charley, I am so sorry. He was a very special and talented cousin. We had such good times when we were kids. We knew him as Fettie, when we were young. We will miss him , Love and prayers, Eilene Cooper

I was working for Rod Barker at the Strater Hotel when I first interviewed Charlie for a hotel room dedication in his honor.
I visited him at home and he showed me all the amazing things he had made over the years, from the furniture in the house to miniature carvings, jewelry, and a beautiful dollhouse that was magical in its detail. He showed me a tiny high-boy that went in the dollhouse dining room, complete with dove-tailed drawers and brass hinges. I was in awe, and asked him how many hours he worked to make such things. His reply? "It takes until I'm done." And he flashed me a sincere grin and I knew we would be friends. The world will miss his wry wit and out-of-this-world talent. My thoughts are with his daughter, friends, and extended family. -Brenda Macon
