Celebration of Life for Charles "Chuck" Howell
Charles "Chuck" Eugene Howell completed the race that God had put before him on February 19, 2022. Chuck was born on March 7, 1930, and was the 2nd oldest child born to Charles Rayburn Howell and Jimmie Ernest (Russell) Howell, in Sweetwater, Texas. Chuck's siblings were Juanita Lois; Emory Earl; Freddy Arnold; Thelma Mae, and Perry James.
Charles meet Bobbie June Jolly and the two were married in Clovis, New Mexico on August 5, 1949.
In 1979, chuck and June moved to Durango, Colorado to be close to their three grandchildren. Chuck joined Dwayne's business, General Pest Control, and the two of them build a successful business by providing pest management services to homes and businesses all over the Four Corners area. Chuck and Dwyane were blessed to have a staff of very competent and professional individuals and many of whom went on to start their own pest control management businesses in later years.
In 2006, Chuck retired from General Pest Control and spend much time traveling to visit friends and relatives. Chuck never got too far from June because he always wanted to be close to her and take care of her. One would rarely see one without the other close by.
Chuck enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, telling stories to the grandkids, and watching any of the grandkid's sporting activities. Being with his grandkids in any way and having them come by for visits was the joy of his life.
chuck also loved his church family and had many friends around town. He was such a generous man and loved to be able to pick up the tab whenever they were out with others. many times he would pay the ticket for a family he didn't even know and would slip out without that family even knowing who it might have been.
Chuck is preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda; his father Charles Rayburn Howell; his mother, Jimmie Earnest (Russell) Howell, his sister, Lois Thurman (Grady); his brother, Emory Howell (Norma); his sister, Thelma Luttrell (Jim); and his brother, Perry Howell (Marlene).
Chuck is survived by June, his wife of 72 years; his son, Dwayne Howell (Cheryl); his brother Freddy Arnold Howell (Barbara); Grandsons Matthew Jason Howell (Marissa); Bryan Wayne Howell (Amanda); Jodi Nicole Buchanan (Drew). He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
