Charles Gruver Obituary
Charles had many careers; classroom teacher for twenty years in Durango, Colorado, worked for the Durango Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, and held many city administrative positions in Las Cruces, New Mexico. He retired to Laughlin, Nevada in 2020.
Charles is survived by his wife, Nyla, four children, eleven grandchildren, and one great grandchild. He will be remembered for his quiet, positive nature and his willingness to give freely of his time and talents. He will be extremely missed by those that knew him.

Just thinking of Charlie last week. I saw an old truck that looked just like his 40 Ford Pivkup. It was green like his was before it got red. I remember helping him put disc brakes on the front of that hot rod. We went over to a hot rod shop next to 3 Crosses Auto Body on Bataan Hwy 70 in Las Cruces to get some parts to make the brake pads fit. Had fun helping with that project. Gruv could do so many different things. Miss him.

I am so sad to hear of Mr. Gruver's passing. He was my absolute favorite teacher of all time (6th grade at Riverview) and will always hold a special place in my heart. My sincerest condolences go out to his family. The world lost a great man. He will be dearly missed.

Charles was my boss and friend at the DSNGRR. He was a caring and down to earth person. We had a lot of good times together. Condolences to his family. He is a good man.

Sorry for your loss. Keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers. Mr. Gruver was one of my favorite teachers. He was my 4th-6th grade teacher at Sunnsyside.
