Celina Valdez Obituary

Celina Valdez passed away peacefully at home with her two children at her side on June 17, 2024 at the age of 91. Celina was born in Tiffany, CO on February 13, 1933. She liked cooking for her family and was also a big fan of the Broncos. Celina had been a business woman in the Durango area for many years managing hotels, making jewlery, silversmithing and much more. Later in life she enjoyed hanging out with her senior group in Arboles. Celina is survived by her daughter Loretta Mestas (Johnny) her son Ron Valdez, daughter Patricia Martinez, sister Emma Herrera (Jesus), sister Claudine Garcia, Rick (Lilly) Duran, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Predeceased in death by loving husband Leazy C. Valdez her parents Julia and Celistino Duran. Celina will be missed by all those that knew and loved her. Services will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Friday July 12, 2024 Rosary will be held at 9:30am followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am. Interment to follow at Greenmount Cemetery.
