Carol Hansen Obituary

Carol was born and raised in Endicott, NY. She graduated from Endicott Union High School in the class of 1955. In 1957, she married Thomas W. Hansen. Tom worked for IBM, and in 1965, they had the opportunity to relocate from Poughkeepsie, New York, to Boulder, Colorado. They moved their family there and raised their two daughters in Boulder, spending much of her free time, reading mystery novels, skiing, hiking, and camping with her family.

After retirement, they settled in Ivins, Utah, to enjoy the desert environment. In retirement, they traveled often and made many cherished memories together. In 2004, Carol moved to Durango to be closer to her daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Leslie Hansen, her son-in-law, Oscar Trono, and her granddaughters, Lila and Willa Trono. She was predeceased by her husband, Tom, and her daughter Erica.

Carol was my favorite of a group of women that I met with for lunch over the
years. She was full of stories about her growing up in Endicott, and her life
"out west". I missed her when she had to go into the nursing home, and now she is gone. She loved her pets and I hope she is reunited with them.
